What I’d actually buy this October if I were shopping, not working here…
October always gets me thinking about gifts – I love gifting pieces that are special, pieces I actually love and know will be loved in return. I don’t usually say this out loud but here’s my honest take on what I’d buy if I were shopping here instead of designing.
If you asked me what I’d buy, before any gift guide tells you what to buy – it’s a no brainer, my personal favourite item out of everything we make – the sheep throw.
Part of it is simple: many of you feel the same way, numbers don’t lie – it’s our no.1 bestselling design. So, it holds up as something people want, not just something I’m fond of. But another reason I’d go for one of our sheep throws is that it tells you exactly what it’s made from. Wool, on wool. You don’t need to explain the fibre content; the throw conveys this completely on its own.
Beyond the design, the reason it works so well as a gift, more than most things is that it’s so practical. There’s no sizing, no hoping it’s useful, no drawer it might end up in.
So: this is not a gift guide, not “five ideas for five people”. Just one design I keep coming back to and why.
