3 Interior Trends That Will Be Everywhere This Spring!

Can you feel spring in the air? Now is about the time we are looking to update our interiors for the new season, so it’s time to talk spring trends for 2023! We’ve compiled three of the biggest interior colour trends that will be everywhere this spring.

What is a trend?

The word ‘trend’ is of Germanic origin meaning to ‘revolve, rotate or turn in a specified direction’.

Anja Bisgaard Gade, a trend forecaster, states: “A trend is the beginning of a new direction, taking a turn or a twirl or a twist to something that already exists. It starts something new and then over time, will become more normal before something else will become a trend.”

How are trends set?

“Trends are usually a reflection of changing social and cultural mood, so trend forecasters start by evaluating the socio-political, economic and cultural landscape. How do we think people will be thinking and feeling a few years from now? What will life at home look and feel like? What kind of events or technologies might impact this? Then we look specifically at the aesthetic references, colours, shapes and materials that are seen emerging in design that best reflect this feeling.” – Trend Bible

Which trends are we interested in?

At J.J. Textile, we look to those who are leaders in their industry to get an accurate representation of the trends and what is forecast. This is because these large organisations have their own trend scouts who deal specifically with trend issues.

Heimtextil colour Trends for 23/24

Heimtextil is the industry’s most important global event for interior textiles, interior design and interior trends. As leaders in the industry, they are one of the main sources we use to look for trend forecasts.

Colour palettes this year are heavily focused on nature – which, thanks to their calming effects, increased in popularity during the pandemic years. Now, three years on, they are still as popular as ever.

From Earth
1

“From Earth is focused on the natural world and its wellbeing benefits. There is a deep respect for materials and a desire to reconnect with nature. An earthen palette reflects organic matter and natural dyes. Warm, soft and muted, these botanical hues of plant origin range from complex takes of olive and lime to warm beige and pink, and bold indigo. This palette celebrates the beautiful natural variation and nuance of organic colour.” – Heimtextil

“A fresh and enlightened take on an architectural palette sees a complex spectrum of modern neutrals replace the cold, hard grey of an urban landscape. Reflecting a new and flourishing relationship with nature that is symbiotic and collaborative, these engineered natural hues have a clean, refined quality. From warm beiges and tan to green-brown and brown-green, this palette celebrates the coming together of nature and human engineering.” – Heimtextil
